Dr Nadine Fievet has been working as a parasitologist and immunologist at the IRD since 1992. Since 1993, she has conducted malaria field and lab work in Cameroun, Senegal, Benin and Paris. Her research focuses on the pathogenesis of human malaria during pregnancy and early life with a particular interest for immunological responses. Her research has two main goals: to help develop new laboratory facilities and ensure capacity building in collaboration with African Universities in order to provide the best environment to conduct field research in malaria and sepsis pathogenesis; and to plan, supervise and execute different follow-ups of pregnant women and infants to characterize their immune response to malaria and pathogens.
